Running on Treadmills – Safer, Cushioned Impact

The benefits of running on treadmills for some people far outweigh running outside on city streets. Users who run inside on their treadmill can avoid the difficult weather that many people have to contend with in many countries. Runners can avoid the rain and cold weather, even the extremely hot weather when they use their treadmill to train and exercise in doors. Of course if you plan to run a marathon or a race outdoors, it is probably a good idea to run once and awhile outdoors to acclimatize yourself to the outdoor elements. Another major benefit of running indoors on a treadmill is that you do not have to contend with the hazards of running on the street. Whether it is cars, bicycles, pedestrians, other runners or just the various obstacles that you find on the street, you can be sure that none of these exist on the treadmill.

Running on a treadmill also allows you to program whatever run you want for the day. If you feel like running on a flat surface for the duration of your run you can do that on the treadmill. If you fell climbing hills during your run, you can select the appropriate program and run hills as part of your training. Users can program whatever program they wish for their run without having to plan their route as they might have for an outdoor run.

Another major advantage of running inside on a treadmill is that the deck will be cushioned and will absorb some of the shock each time your foot hits the surface. This is much easier on legs and joints compared to running out doors. Treadmills provide a safe situation to run in, variety or programs, and provide protection for your joints by cushioning the impact of running or jogging on the treadmill as compared to running on the street.
